Juul’s nicotine formula identical to Marlboro, new study finds

A new study has found that the nicotine formula used by Juul Labs in the company’s e-cigarettes is nearly identical to one used by Altria Group in the company’s Marlboro cigarettes. CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, and other pharmacy chains recall Zantac and ranitidine over cancer concerns

Several nationwide pharmacy chains have pulled Zantac from stores over concerns that the popular heartburn drug and its generic equivalent, ranitidine, could cause cancer. CVS, Target, Walgreens, Walmart, and other pharmacies have voluntarily recalled Zantac and ranitidine following a warning by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that these drugs were contaminated with a chemical that could increase the risk of cancer for patients being treated for conditions caused by too much stomach acid. Experts say that the case may be the first of thousands of mesothelioma deaths among emergency workers who worked at Ground Zero in the days and weeks following terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001. Bayer faces more than 42,000 Roundup cancer lawsuits

Bayer AG is facing more than 42,000 lawsuits filed on behalf of consumers who allege that they were diagnosed with cancer after using the herbicide Roundup. This total is more than double the 18,000 Roundup lawsuits that Bayer announced had been filed against the company as of July 2019. (more…)

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says that the blood pressure medication Valsartan and other similar blood pressure medications may be contaminated with as many as four chemicals that can cause cancer in patients. Study shows rise in cancer cases among valsartan users after FDA recall

A recent study published in the medical journal Circulation found that there was a sharp rise in cancer diagnoses between 2017 and 2018 among patients taking the blood pressure drug valsartan.
