Broken Paragard Copper IUD? You May Qualify to File a Lawsuit.

Women who were implanted with a Paragard copper intrauterine device (IUD) whose arm broke off during removal may be at risk of serious and potentially life threatening injuries. In many cases, broken Paragard IUDs may require medical intervention or even surgery in order to remove the device or treat injuries caused by the broken pieces of the device.

100+ lawsuits filed against manufacturers of chemical hair straighteners and relaxers

More than 100 lawsuits have been filed by women who were diagnosed with cancer against manufacturers of chemical hair straighteners and hair relaxers. The lawsuits allege that using chemical straighteners or relaxers is linked to an increased risk of developing uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, breast cancer, endometriosis, and fibroids.

First Paragard lawsuits scheduled for trial in March 2024

The U.S. District judge in Georgia who is overseeing federal lawsuits involving the copper IUD Paragard has selected 10 lawsuits that will be the first to go to trial out of the hundreds that have been filed. Judge Leigh Martin May has ordered a trial date of March 2024 for the 10 “bellwether” Paragard lawsuits that were selected.

Jury awards $5.75 million to family of VW mechanic diagnosed with mesothelioma

Volkswagen has been ordered to pay $5.75 million in damages to the family of a Washington auto mechanic who died from mesothelioma caused by asbestos exposure in the workplace. The lawsuit, filed by former mechanic Thomas Sorrentino, alleged that Volkswagen failed to issue warnings that the company’s brakes and clutches contained asbestos, which could cause mechanics who worked with these parts to develop mesothelioma or other asbestos diseases.

Nine chemical hair straighteners lawsuits filed by women diagnosed with cancer

L’Oreal USA Inc and other companies that manufacture chemical hair straighteners or hair relaxers are facing at least nine lawsuits filed on behalf of women that were diagnosed with cancer after using these products. Last month, a study published by the National Institutes of Health revealed that women who use hair straighteners or relaxers may be more likely to develop ovarian cancer.

Missouri woman diagnosed with uterine cancer files chemical hair straighteners lawsuit against L’Oréal

A Missouri woman has filed a lawsuit against L’Oréal involving the company’s chemical hair straighteners. The lawsuit alleges that women who use L’Oréal’s hair straightening products may face an increased risk of developing uterine cancer.
