A new study has found that the nicotine formula used by Juul Labs in the company’s e-cigarettes is nearly identical to one used by Altria Group in the company’s Marlboro cigarettes. Lawsuit by Illinois teenager alleges Juul gave him ‘lungs like a 70-year-old’

An Illinois teenager has filed a lawsuit against Juul over allegations that the company’s e-cigarettes caused severe damage to his lungs. The lawsuit, filed by 18-year-old Adam Hergenreder, alleges that Juul deliberately marketed flavored e-cigarettes to teenagers, putting them at risk of serious and permanent injuries to their lungs. FDA warns Juul over illegal e-cigarettes marketing

A U.S. House of Representatives committee says that Juul broke the law by illegally marketing its e-cigarettes as a safe alternative to tobacco cigarettes that could help smokers quit. The committee’s chairman called on the Food and Drug Administration to take “appropriate enforcement action” against Juul over the company’s illegal marketing practices. (more…)

Illinois officials report first death from respiratory illness linked to e-cigarettes

Officials in Illinois report that a person who was diagnosed with a severe lung illness after using e-cigarettes has died. The death is believed to be the first that has been linked to a mysterious lung illness reported across several states among patients who used e-cigarettes. (more…)

Stroke victim files California lawsuit against Juul over e-cigarette marketing to teens

A Connecticut man who suffered a massive stroke after becoming addicted to Juul e-cigarettes has filed a lawsuit against the manufacturer of the vaping device. Maxwell Berger filed a lawsuit against Juul Labs in California over allegations that the company hid the dangers of Juul from consumers, and illegally marketed the product to consumers under the age of 26.
